La Grande Motte

La Grande Motte,
like no other...

Few cities can boast an architectural identity as homogeneous as the captivating Grande Motte. Conceived as a work of art, in the imagination of Jean Balladur, visionary architect and creator of the Hôtel Le Quetzal, the Grande Motte is immediately identifiable at a glance, and this singularity contributes to its influence. But behind its symbolic façades, inspired by pre-Columbian pyramids, there is also – and above all – a city with a heart that beats throughout the year, a green, open and welcoming city, a sunny and dynamic city turned towards the Mediterranean and the thousand of nautical pleasures it offers. Come and discover La Grande Motte, a city like no other!

Nature City

Designated on the World Heritage List of the 20th century, the Grande Motte is not only visionary in its architecture, but also in its investment in ecology and respect for biodiversity. Green spaces, flower beds, lush vegetation, trees and shrubs are omnipresent within the territory and accentuate this very South American dimension desired by its designer.

  • 70 % of the territory occupied by green spaces and natural areas
  • A scientific project for the restoration of Mediterranean sea grass beds
    • 25 km of pedistrian and cyclist routes.
  • A commitment to save Mediterranean turtles
